Not quite my style..

It's not quite my style..I don't know why..something just seems to be lacking, like a bass = P, but I love the piano part, and the lyrics really do speak to most..(including me..i suppose, not exactly, but quite close enough.. = P)

Keep up the good work!

thanx dude\
yeah it is a little empty... but i dont mind a solo piano/vocal song now and again

lol

Is this that piano solo where he just walked up and sat down for a while then left? The silence and ambient noise of that around the audience being his music?

I would have to guess so, cause I don't feel like looking it up RIGHT NOW to be honest ;P.

Rig responds:

Yeah. It is.

HAHA YES!

"Classic chord progression" indeed...I would know THAT tune anywhere! CANNON IN D!!! Sorry, I get VERY excited when it shows up, I love it more then any other piece EVER! Pachbell = hero for it.

ANYWAY, I'm actually planning on coming out with several versions (classical, techno, industrial, etc..) of D myself once I get good enough... I don't want to shame it at all (which means no less then great).

I <3 you for this song.

Lovingly? ;)
~TheWisestMagi~

P.S. Don't worry you didn't disgrace it, this is no short of great ^^.

Rig responds:

I'm so happy - I'm glad you're happy too :D
Sweet! I wanna hear your versions later.

Kudos!

Dude, this rocks, I love your sampling techniques ^^ (can't resist "^^" it's just so happy). Anyway, The vocals were EXCELLENT and I really like your bass synth and that little bouncey synth that introduces us to the song in the beginning that sounds like something a goombas footsteps would be xD.

I WANT A SPACESHIP :D!

Anywhooo....Very nice lyrics ;)..but there are some VERY SUGGESTIVE (joke) parts ;P.

Anyway, good job man, keep it up, this was veery catchy.

Humming along,

Rig responds:

I WANNA SPACESHIP TOO :(
Thanks for the review, man! It was a fun song to write :D

Very nice!

Wow, this is fairly large scale for NG, in length and effort I mean. Very nicely done!

Since I'm still listening to my first run of it now, I'll start my review where I am about.

Near the end took me completely off guard, it was like a whole new style of music starting in...8 something, and then in the low 10's...that pooor ...celloist? that hast to play those 16th note runs at the end, lol.

In the 4's it sounded almost miniacal, and eeeeviiil (super villain voice) sounding, (especially because of that tempo change which added alot to it), like somone was going to take over the world...by force *Dr. Evil pinkie*.

Ooook, anyway, at about 1 minute is one of my favorite sequences in the song (except from about 9:45 on, that pretty much rocks). BUT this part I just found amazing all the way until about 1:50 where it gets even MORE interesting and then sounds like its slowing down, but adds a nice little sweet melody, before starting the EVIIIL part.

As for the C minor, yeah I know winter loves that, but I'm more of a D minor fan (ever since I first heard Pachbell's canon in D MINOR).

Keep it up man!
~TheWisestMagi~

P.S. I wish i could remember more spots in the song that I made mental notes of, but it was so long I forgot some of them to talk about D: (sorry ;D)

MusicalRocky responds:

Yeah man NG doesn't see too many 30-minute works lol. It did take a lot of effort, no lie : )

After C and the cadenza, the new A does have a few differences in order to seem more like getting closer to a resolution, and also to lead into C major instead of G major (which makes this sonata-rondo). You mean cellist :P but yeah the coda is a little hard on the poor thing.

The 4's, as you call them, is probably my fave part of the piece, as well as one of my best themes ever, if I do say so myself (and I do). : D But yeah I agree about the evil, definitely some of that. Haha Dr. Evil : P

The one minute mark! That's my supahero theme : D "Eroica." I like that a lot.

Actually if you want the full story that the concerto represents, I'll gladly tell you, just pm meh!

I don't know about slowing down, but it certainly does have a slightly different tone with the variation of the theme presented by cello : D And then malvagita again (evil) yay.

Yeah Winter does like the C minor parts, though the F minor part is his favorite in here ;)

Idk about Canon in D minor. Pachelbel's is in D major, but still. D minor is awesomer than C minor haha.

Thanks for reviewing man, and don't worry about not remembering everything, 'tis long.

Nice

This does song alot like a band...if bands played this kind of music (peaceful and techno). It's quite nice and peaceful listen to, very good transitions, I mainly just REALLY liked the melody, it's very strong and I love that in a song.

Good job man, like I said, very catchy, you have alot to go with and a lot of potential, just doesnt song like your too used to mixing a stuff (like me).

Good Luck,
~TheWisestMagi~

Ironic

I just submitted a song called "Unwinding" and said just kick back and chillax in the description...like just now, and I saw this title and went to it.

ALOT different from the kind of relax I had going on, but good effect, although a little too disconnected for me, it is well mixed...oh and nice carousel effect to loop.

Fantabulo-scrumtuous

Being described as "fantabulo-scrumtuous" is considered quite an honor in the culture of the magi ;).

Anyway, of course you should make a third...duh, cause I can't get enough of the last two, even though the first one is so darn short :P.

At any rate, I like how you introduce the old melody in the beginning, and bring it in throughout the song, yet make it a different song..I say (you are already planning it I know it) no matter what throw in the melody at some point of each chinese dance machine, even if the entire song's melody is different ; P.

F-777 responds:

Lol thanks. Ya im making a lot of plans for number 3! I will be sure to pm you when its finished =D.

Oops!

Haha, I accidently wrote my review on your news page..well here it is again ^^ (was reading lyrics while listening).

Haha, you darn music creators you, just spitting out great music through all hours of the day..I strive to see that day myself ^^.

As for your new song...thouche' (literally, touched in french).

It is a FANTASTIC song, and bestows with it the best you can contain a feeling like love? Who knows, it seems to be uncaontainable, love that is. At any rate, this song does truly depict a girl in love I would say...or anyone really hopelessly lost in another "Why you chose me"...ahhh good question, but it will undoubtably never be anwered...BUT THAT'S A GOOD THING!! Things that are indescribable, uncontainable, and unanswerable...it is those things that make it all worthwhile!

"How can you be for real"--I'd say you've found your person..or this girl at least, and she seems to know it...and don't forget! what goes around comes around..sometimes in immediate reaction ; ).

"I am lost in a distant world"...best comment I can say to that is...aren't we all? :)

Well, another great song, thanks for submitting, oh and get well soon ^^.

Lost in melody,

Unique

Wow, this is the most imagery I believe i've EVER gotten from an electronic track, and I find it quite amazing...You did not lie when you said it was a story...it puts you in that boy's eyes...and even in the robot's...but mostly as a silent overhead spectator, watching emotionless at the chase...the silent to your ears, slow to your eyes, still to your heart...

It's neverending, and the boy just keeps running, occasionally to hide in a alley as the robots run past...but mostly just an endless run, with determined eyes and fearful face...longing for an end...having faith in the escape from the inevitable...filled with sorrow not only for himself, but what he symbolizes...the very defeat he signifies....indescribable...

Wow man, I don't know how you managed to put this together, but it is just amazing...nice use of repeated patterns that somehow manage to not get repetitive, maintain interest, increase curiosity, and provoke emotion...or some sort of internal feeling outside of emotion for this particular story...

I love it.

Sincerely,
~TheWisestMagi~

P.S. nice use of a bass synth + filtered percussive intrumentals to set the template for the chase..and the song...even that grey emotion.
