Incredible!

This is fantastic, sir. I rather enjoyed every bit of the composition, and your performance was certainly not sub par, so quit being humble ;P.

My only suggestion to make this a bit more interesting is to have a part somewhere that is perhaps even in a different key (but still a spanish scale setup) and play a little salsa-y** part that has more full chord playing in it and a nice little groove to create a kind of "dancing loving romantic exciting sexual" feel in the song. It would make it feel more complete to me.. Seems like you hit much of romance except for this :).

Hopefully that helps you as far as composing goes! I am not a guitarist so I cannot judge that, but it looks like you don't want me to anyway.

**Salsa-y is maybe not what I'm looking for, as that change may be too dramatic, but I hope you kind of know what I mean. Perhaps I meant more Rumba?

Darkmaster603 responds:

Well, I know that there is some sloppy playing in some parts, but I just don't like hearing that my playing is sloppy too much :P.

I can see that you're right, I need to add another movement to this piece, the "dancing loving romantic exciting sexual" part seems to not really be there. I understand what you mean by salsa-y, and I'll try to work on that. I think you're right about the key change, I think it's going to be necessary for the other movement.

Thanks for taking your time to listen and review this song!

Only 31 to go!

So I thoroughly enjoy the idea of these recent projects.

My only small point of criticism would be that the segments of the song were just that, segments. It felt more like 5 different songs (the last two being remixes of them all). I figure that this was just to show different elements of the experiment, but I would personally just prefer to skip to 2:46 and listen to the project as a whole.

This could be remedied if there were any transitions ;) <-- I realize that with the nature of this song, transitions are very hard, but as it is the song is just literally cutting off and starting back up completely different other than the key.

Sweet song. Magnificent concept. I look forward to listening in on more of these. They are awesome.
9/10, 5/5.

P.S. Great work on the sound editing/mixing.

Rig responds:

I wanted to show everyone the loops involved in the final mix, and I thought segments were the best way to do it. But yeah, transitions would be a better way to do so, eh?

Thanks for the props!

Polkown.

The beginning, when played with an accordian, is in fact a polka. I SWEAR IT.

I might have lied.

NO I WOULD NOT DO THAT.
(or would I?) No, I wouldn't

Asshole.

Cmon, I didn't mean it......Yes I did.
Anyway, why isn't this in the top 5? It's just the kind of energy pumping stuff that NG is supposed to love! Wait..oh...I see...Did you layer your sounds and not be repetitive? Tsk, you will never get far without being repetitive. Everyone who's anyone knows that.

P.S. I am.
P.P.S. BUT WHO IS THAT%u203D
INTERROBANG/QUESCALATION MARK!
Make a song titled interrobang please. pleease...

Rig responds:

Polkamon; gotta dance 'em all!

WTF

Ok, three songs into listening to your music.

WHY AREN'T YOU KNOWN? You are significantly better than most of the "top" submitters on this site. So far every song that I have heard from you is as good as or better than any of the current top 5 songs.

Besides which, writing your own stuff is a heck of a lot harder than remixing. No matter what anyone says.

Favorited as an audio artist now.

Thanks man im glad you appreciate my work. The problem with this site is people get 0 bombed all the time and they arent really given a fair chance. I have been lucky to have 3 songs in the top 5 so far but i believe there is other artists on here like me that produce good work and dont get alot of credit. 0 bonbing sux. :(

TimmyDope

I knew it.

I knew that stories were still in you. I just had to check. :)

Selcuk you never fail my friend. I have to keep telling myself that it's just my imagination to keep from getting all teary eyed on this one..

This actually would be great during an opening cinematic for a game...woah....very good. Does anyone commission games to music? They should. This is a strong bit of evidence for proof.

I love you,
*wink*

MaestroRage responds:

Hey Bob!

The stories never left. Even in the endless stream of loops i've been making lately I instill a story in them. Even if it's not immediately noticable, they are there.

I am truly glad you were able to feel what I felt while writing the piece. Such tragedy, such incredibly pointless devastation. Failing to protect even the young from it's venomous reach.

As for whether people commission games to music, I have actually seen this happen a few times. But very few of the games come to fruition.

Thank you for the review, it is truly great to hear from you again!

Take care.

Still alive?

Haha, hello there!
I see you're still doin your thing with ambient music. ;)
This does exactly what I think you want it to do. By the way, it still sounds like metroid.

The snare drum could be different..like more of a crunching sound (especially when it first comes in). I think the same style percussion this guy uses would be good for you too: http://helix6.newgrounds.com/

Outside of that it's a well round piece!
So, how are you these days? ;)

Aresdev responds:

He lives!! Wow, thanks for the feedback. I will have to give that a listen, maybe I can come up with something. I put another one up, so yeah. I'm working again.

Noice!

I'm goind a good job picturing (what is visualizing for the ears?) vocals to this. Very nice. Only criticisms are : "Are you Ready?" seems like the vox on that is out of place...walkie talkie sound. Also, the clap you used could have been a better song it seems. Also, extended would be nice. If not only for a beat-breakdown.

Overall this is hot though. Great work.

DJ-VIZ responds:

yeah the are you ready I just put in for the ngs mix, but for the final version it won't be in it...yeah I can picture the vocals too lol. thanks for the rev

This is not real.

Wow, this is possibly the best song I have ever heard. And with it, the perfect title to it. I therefore conclude that this is not real, but a figment of my imagination. Good try, but I must deduct 2 points for being fake.

Good day to you SIR!
~TWM

P.S. O,o

Rig responds:

I'm pretty sure it's real.

Ha.

In general your music themes and melodies are great. The leads and bass synths are well made, although not perfect. But really your main problem to me is your work with the drum beats. Both of these top to songs just have a straight pounding bass (although the other is on the upbeat sure, but still). If you had more of a breakbeat style some of your music would almost be reminescent of PX9. I would just suggest experimenting with cymbals and snares and things, probably with a song you've already made. Just keep adding things until it just sounds bad. Then take some out until it sounds just right.

Love the intro though.

Unrl responds:

hahaha okay mate, thanks for the review.. but I kinda dont want to go drum n' bass style, i'm sticking with 8bit Raves

Percussion

While all around this isn't my favorite of your works, the percussion work that starts at 0:32 makes me happy. Also the chimes.

It is weird to hear such a percussive groove in a song like this (for the rest of the song).

Great song at any rate, it is an overall nice piece of work. I think you need to write another song for a story though rather than a game from time to time though :), I enjoy those to such a great extent...they are so epic.

The story and song give me an image similar to "These Angels of War"...YEAH I can remember that far back when it comes to music, melodies, and most importantly the imagery/general feel behind the song. The difference is this song seems a tad more mellow. The people perhaps more rigid in showing emotion...and not such a bustling kingdom.

Keep it up Selcuk, I like hearing from you,
~TheWisestMagi~

MaestroRage responds:

you know, I fully agree with you man. I want to write a song for the story, I have a few last projects I need to get finished and i'll start working again to tell a story, as was the original dream.

And wow X_x. You can remember THAT far back?! It makes me feel a little warm inside, you really have been there for all this time haven't you? Thanks for that.

Thank you for the review, and ongoing support sir, means a lot to me. I'm glad you liked it!
