COoOol.

First thing I'd like to say is: That ending sounded A LOT like ode to joy :).
Variation on the choir part.

Anyway, this reminds me of the music from runescape the game (even though I haven't played it in several years) - but I think that is due to your brass sound. I think you could find a more high quality sample for it...or a more suitable one for the song...Finding the right sound is the most frustrating part for me - ESPECIALLY brass, which is why I simply don't use it...they haven't really mastered the rendering of brass intruments it seems.

Also, it seems as though you are using the choir that comes with the program too...I know it can be frustrating, but finding the right sounds makes alot of difference- although it happened to work for this song :)

Still, it made your song sound more video gamey rather than epic...It's harder to portray emotions as crystal clear this way.

I can throw a few soundfonts your way if you like - although my main source of finding more seems to have vanished (more on that some other time).

Anyway, my favorite part of the song is, hands down, the piano part. I LOVE the intro to the song, I felt that it was wonderfully written.

All in all, GREAT song, but depending on what you were really aiming for, some higher quality soundfonts may have been a good thing =).

LacrimosaMuse responds:

hey thanks for the review, the ending is actually supposed to be a variation of ode to joy (read the description for Limbo for the background of the combination) i have been looking for some better samples that are preferably cheap. this song isnt actually supposed to sound too epic (you wait till the second movement, the Dies Irae) more than soft and somewhat sad. im trying to get some higher quality sound engines and as soon as i do, my pieces will be transferred over

Long intro

Ditto the guy before me.
I need more sustenance!

Cool lead, makes me want to vaporize and appear in an ancient war of the worlds conflict.

Yea, I meant what I said.

axeFX responds:

I started the song off with a build up... then a sweep, then a climax and a pendulum style chorus. To extend it, I added an intro to my build up intro, and lengthened the end. So yea... long intro XD

Cool

Great pads n' synths, but I'm not sure if the song is appropriate for the title.

HOWEVER, I'm not reviewing the title.

Cool song, epic, and great synths, but I also know you could have done even better =). Most of the song seems a bit empty, but then again you started a few hours ago? Needs a bit adding for now, but I'm sure It'll get it's due.

Keep it up,
~TheWisestMagi~

Kazmo responds:

Ya I still haven't uploaded a new version, since I've been a tad busy.

I'm glad you like it though, I'll fill in the spaces in due time! :]

Thanks for the review!

Hmmm

I like this one even more than the hard trance. Hands down =).

But that might be bias, because I like to chill...

Oooo...vocals...

Be back in 5, once I'm done flying.

*20 minutes later*

WOOOOOOOOOO!

Great song man, this is truly epic, everything about it, this may just be my favorite on top 5 this week! It has so much energy, yet so much chilll...........*sigh* ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *sigh*.

Great submission new Lord of the Trance. <---came up with that myself, nice eh?

VOCAL TRANCE ROCKS.

Great production + talent = great song.

Keep it up! I would love to hear more like this one!

~Bobs

Kazmo responds:

Lord of The Trance??? Is that moi!?

Rofl, thanks man!

I'm really glad you love it, I can tell by the fact that you were definitely gone longer than 5 minutes. xD

Thanks again for the awesome review and support!

I love the lead you made too.

Nice lead!

Rockin' melody!

And an excellent use of filters translates into an excellent, catchy, skillful, and non-repetitive song. The little breakdown at 1:35 is also quite nice, it makes one kinda catch themself.

Great job!

~TheWisestMagi~

P.S. Sweet bass.

Kazmo responds:

Thanks!!!

I'm glad you like it! :D

Thanks again for reviewing!

Soothing

Rain, rain go away come again another day...and another and another =).

This rain whispers to the soul. Great poem to go along with it, and you found it in the best way possible =).

The entire song feels so seemless and listless, I could almost just drift off to sleep right now...but no! I'm in the middle of calculus homework!

All in all great job here, great pads and GREAT defining of ambience.

My only complaint here would be that the clap seems a bit too peircing for the song's nature.

Also great use of sounds such as actual thunder.

Rain, rain go away..

Thanks for the review. I tried my best to create a mood :]

Haha!

Hasn't Dark Cut been on your favorites since like the beginning of time?

Now you have finally combined your two creative (although odd...) minds!

Cool to see a nice heroic..yet dark (at times) piece.
I feel like saving the world because of this song...so I THINK I WILL!

*leaves*

*45 minutes later* Ok didnt work..although this IS 45 minutes later real time than when I started the post.

ANWAY, this is quite a racing song, this excites me. The part at like 1:10ish also well done, the develops the entire mood of such a game to an spectating eye. It reminds me alot of the score for a war movie...being that it races on with dire energy, and heartpumping melodies, and the next moment portrays sorrow and loss...forshadowing no? And this game works out in just that manner! Since you are a wartime surgeon, you see both this dire energy and heartfelt sorrow (or contrary, relief from the burden).

Or is this dark cut still about war?

Either way, great epic energy, and emotion. And te way this song loops --> OMG--- Epic title sequence, the loop is so flawless, I swear the score to some of the movies' opening sequence (menu on DVD) sound ALOT like this. Grade A! A for the adjective apocolyptic...

Another great, thanks Selcuk,
~Bobs

P.S. I am working on a piece right now, and should be done by the turn of the month!...or knowing me, by christmas. (although I hope to make a wintry-esc song for that too).

MaestroRage responds:

Dark Cut has indeed on my favorites list for ever and then some. I love the game, really glad to have the chance to become a part of it :D!

Also wow, not many people get to fail at saving the world and live. Most fail BECAUSE they meet technical difficulties... like continuing to live. Baddies, they aim for it you see.

To answer your question yes, this next Dark Cut WILL be about battle, though it is spun in a rather interesting way, with the spoiler not being written here of course ;D! You'll have to play it to see it. So yes you, as the surgeon, would see both. I am glad you made that connection!

You're more then welcome Bobs! Thank YOU for the review, truly was a pleasure to read, i'm glad you liked it! Of course, you're also welcome :D!

I look forward to that piece, let me know when you get it out.

Hey a good downthrough!

Awesome...but..:

Hellaz close to that...the underlying theme at least...When I first heard it I thought it was the same artist for a second...I know it wasn't on purpose...but DAAAAAANG thats close. Give it a look xD. Must have been using same program.

P.S. I am not trying to say you stole the theme..it's happened to many others before :D, besides the rest of the song is definately different...still, I'm trippin' balls here.

F-777 responds:

Wow he used EXACT same guitar from nexus...but its possible he heard my song before cause i actually made this song 4 months ago but only sent to people over msn and stuff.

Ye quite simular =S. But i never heard his before...

Thanks for the review!

LOL

YOu did not just do that, lol...

Seems like I heard this somewhere Before (thrice now)....
Great everytime. =P.

seems like I can hear the strings better this time..

Standing Ovation

Haha, Sorry I haven't communicated much lately, and after hearing some of you and LadyArsenics new stuff I am very remorseful.

This is grade A, I mean I have been listening to alot of professional classical pieces in the little spare time I've had in preperation for the college transition next year, and this ranks up there with them. It sounds so professional, and is still so peaceful and somehow unpredictly catching. Er I guess thats how I'd describe it, it's like I want to sing along, but I can't because its too complex.

I'm going to go look at some more of your new submissions now. I wonder if you remember me? I can't tell how long it's been anymore..I lost track of time.

Sincerely,
Bobs (yes, with an "s" ;P)

MaestroRage responds:

Well hello there! I don't know you at all, but Ragey says he remembers you quite well and is fond of you. Anyway, thank you so much for what you have to say! I'm so glad you think my work sounds professional! That really is a breath of fresh air compared to what I've had to work there in the beginning. ='3 Your beloved little Lady is growing up! <3 Anyway, thanks again for your work, and thanks for listening!
With love,
LadyArsenic <3
